Politics: USA: Bill Clinton reverses Democrat's stance vs Social Security Reform

Micael Franc, writing in in PolicyWire, a newsletter from Heritage Foundation, reports a most interesting, indeed the most interesting moment to date from the Democrats in regard to their obstruction of Prez Bush's campaign to reform the structure of America's failing Social Security system. "During a recent interview on ABC’s Good Morning America, former President Bill Clinton offered his fellow Democrats some presumably unwelcome tactical advice on Social Security reform. Challenging the 'just say no' strategy that Democrats have followed thus far, Clinton said: 'I think the Democrats should say what they are for on Social Security in the next couple weeks.' Most significantly, Clinton suggested that the Democratic plan 'should include an opportunity for people to participate in savings and ownership.' ”

When developments like this come along, they suddenly flash into stark relief the similarly obstructionist reflex-(re)action of the lapdog Religious Left, notably Sojourners Magazine which repeated the mindless anti-Bush line on solving the problem of Social Security for the upcoming generations while keeping on course with today's elderly, like myself. - Owlb
