JapanDisaster: Tsunami: Connection to Hawaii volcano in January?

CSM (Mar7,2k11)

Was Kilauea volcano a prelude -- along with Christchurch, New Zealand's eathquake -- to the Japan Disaster's tsunami that hit Hawaii yesterday?

CSM Science Questions

Why did Hawaii's Kilauea

volcano shoot lava

80 feet into the air?

Hawaii's Kilauea volcano saw 'quite an exciting development'
over the weekend: the lava lake at Pu'u 'O'o drained as
fountaining lava burst out of new fissures on Kilauea's
eastern flank.
In January 2004, Science writer Pete Spotts took this photo of Pu'u 'O'o, an active vent on the slopes of Hawai'i's Kilauea volcano, then filled to within a few feet of the crater rim with a lake of lava. On Saturday [March 5, 2k11], lava began fountaining out of fissures that had opened on the eastern flanks of Kilauea. As lava poured out the new fissures, the 'floor' of Pu'u 'O'o – the black skin of cooled lava atop the lake of molten rock – dropped 370 feet in only a few hours.
