Fairfood’s world news
San Francisco
Fairfood San Francisco is now up and running, with the help of our three fabulous project assistants, and we are actively engaged in advocacy efforts toward some of the United States’ most influential companies, including; Mars, Del Monte Fresh, Sara Lee, Starbucks, McDonald’s, Del Monte Fresh, Coca Cola, Dr. Pepper Snapple, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and Pepsi, as well as leaders in the area of sustainability such as Strauss Organic, Clif Bar and Stone-Buhr. For example we recently held our second in-person meeting with Kraft where we discussed how we might work with them to continue to increase the level of sustainability of their product supply chains.

Brussels
On the 6th and 7th of December 2010, Fairfood took part in the European Development Days (EDD) in Brussels, Belgium.Fairfood hosted an online platform aimed at stimulating debate on sustainability issues related to the food and beverage sector. To help increase awareness of these issues Fairfood also worked with Eet-o-Theek– a unique mobile mini-theatre – which added some real fair flavour to the event.

London
Fairfood International recently became a Bond member. Bond is the membership body for UK - based NGOs working in international development. There are 370 active members and the organisation operates under the belief that the NGOs are stronger together - that many voices speak louder than one. Now, in the UK, Fairfood’s voice is 370 times stronger than it was.

Season’s Greetings
Fairfood and its international team wishes you a very Merry Christmas and a sustainable year ahead!
Fairfood would also like to thank you for your support in 2010 and looks forward to sending you more Fairfood news in 2011.
