G8 WATCH
I've had the Live 8 concerts on the TV, and really got into the spirit of the absolute horde of talented singers and muscians who sang their hearts out in London UK and in Toronto Canada (that is: Barrie, Ontario). And ... and... the concert in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - of which I got to see some splendid performances mid-evening. Whatever the political outcome is with the top political leaders of the advanced industrial countries plus Russia and, this time around, plus China; still this mass lobbying effort deserves hi praise. To my knowlege, there wasn't any hate-spewing against the politicos, just an appeal by sheer numbers that the leaders find a way to help the world's poor, particularly Africa's masses of desperately poor and ill, to start moving from subhuman conditions of life to those of productive participation in the world economy and hopefully some day, world prosperity.
