War Politics: USA: Public opinion in part approves Bush's approach in support of Israel in Lebanon

Just as some public opinion is opposed to the Canadian Prime Minister's support for Israel's self-defense, which no requires the utter dismantling of Hisbullah terrorist org, just so some public opinion in the US opposes Prez Bush's similar support. There is no move by either country to "reign in" Israeli efforts, while all lament the tragic consequences of Lebanon's and the UN's sheltering of Hizbullah, and of course Hizbullah's decases of terrorism against Israel's north, under its puppetmaster exterminationist Iran. It's as simple as that.
ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- Respondents to a CNN poll released Friday were nearly evenly split on President Bush's handling of the current conflict in the Middle East.Sometimes various proporitions of the public approve of Bush, sometimes various disapprove. But policy, including foreign policy, cannot be determined on opionion polls nor the media's leading the public by the nose.
Forty-six percent of 1,047 Americans participating in the telephone poll, conducted by Opinion Research Corporation for CNN, said they disapproved of Bush's handling of the crisis, while 43 percent said they approved. Ten percent had no opinion.
Overall, Bush's job approval rating continues a slow climb, but the majority of Americans -- 59 percent -- said they disapprove of how Bush is handling his job as president. Forty percent said they approved. (View the complete poll results -- PDF)
The approval numbers are a jump from previous polls. In April, only 32 percent said they approved of the way Bush was handling his job, and 60 percent disapproved. Since then, his approval numbers have been creeping upward.
