Terror: Iraq: Jill Carroll tells the story of her kidnapping, survival, and release

.
A most remarkable serial publishing venture, in print and online, is going strong on Christian Science Monitor. The author of the biographical work is Jill Carrol, the CMS reporter in Iraq who was grabbed by terrorists on Jan7,2k6, who endured capitivity in their hands, and eventually after 82 days was released to return home and begin recovery. Now she's writing again, and what a story.

The story itself is accompanied by a lawnch-time, important editorial (Aug14,2k6), then a set of Statements from Jill's family members and Muslim leaders (short list, beginning January 18), by Mary Beth Carroll (Aug17,2k6).

Here's the sequence of articles:

Introduction (Aug14,2k6)

1: The Kidnapping(Aug14,2k6)

2: A spy with a homing device (Aug15,2k6)

3: The First Video (Aug16,2k6)

4: A mother as a suicide bomber (Aug17,2k6)

5 Mujahideen movies (Aug18,2k6 installment co-authored with Peter Grier)

Future installments thru to 10 plus Epilogue.

Midway thru the series, I can say this is a fascinating account and provides much by way of learning better who the terrorists in Iraq are.
