Here the cartoonist is trying out a new character, possibly to add to his repertoire.
Yaakov Kirschner is an award-winning master of the cartoon / comic strip arts. Altho I tend to call him a "cartoonist," most of his work is actually presented in a set of panels with one or more characters / figures often equipped with dialogue ballons. Wry and succinct, his characters usually avoid picturing negative stereotypes. Given his situation, he mostly creates Palestinian and/or Israeli figures, both kinds alike attesting to Yaakov's general good humour, even in one of the most difficult places to maintain that spirit.
