Pakistan: Rapist Culture: Musharaff exposed lying about rape, embarrasses Bush visit

I saw it on TV tonite. A 32-yr old medical doctor, whose husband (an engineer working abroad in India) was away, was raped by a hi-ranking officer in the Defense Security Forces that were supposed to protect the isolated compound of an oil company in Baluchistan in Western Pakistan where the woman doctor worked. She was threatened by the hi-ranking rapist to remain entirely silent, but the medical staff at the small hospital where she worked in the industrial compound approached the town elders nearby, and a protest was made. Musharaff, apparently solicited by the Defense Security hi-er ups, claimed the alleged rapist was "100% innocent." While visiting the US, Washington Post (WaPo) reporters asked him about the rape and the cover-up, which inquiry Musharraf tried to dismiss with comments about the medical doctor being a loose woman, a whore, that sort of thing. Then speaking to a crowd of admirers at an even in NYC, Musharraf denied he had ever made any such statement.
